Kilimanjaro among world's top 10 hiking spots

afrol News, 9 September - Kilimanjaro National Park has been named among the world's top 10 hiking and trekking vacation spots in the world, the only African tourist attraction to make the list.

Ranked fourth, the Tanzanian resort part is part of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. It is renowned for its various routes that trek through gorges and past amazing wildlife.

Nepal's Annapuma Circuit tops the list. The 186.5 mile, three week Annapurna circuit gets one up close to some of the highest mountains in the Himalayas, and is considered the best hike in the world by many.

It is followed by the Appalachian Trail and Santa Cruz Trek of Peru.
