afrol News partner media: SciDev.Net
The Science and Development Network - or more commonly SciDev.Net - is a London-based online media providing news, views and information about science and technology about and for the developing world. It is the only popular media world-wide to specialise in science issues relevant to Africa and other regions dominated by developing countries. As science relevant to Africa is a much-ignored field, with serious development consequences, SciDev.Net has a very important mission.
The online media's goal is to "help both individuals and organisations in developing countries make informed decisions about how science and technology can improve economic and social development." Their English language service is therefore freely accessable on the Internet, and in cooperation with the afrol News network, its authoritative information about science and technology for the developing world is spread throughout the African press and public.
afrol News is cooperating with SciDev.Net since November 2006 on a pure news exchange basis. We receive the network's Africa-related news copy, publish some of it on the afrol News website and distribute it to independent media all over the continent. SciDev.Net also receives and publsishes news copy from our network.
