afrol News partner media: Mopheme
Mopheme - The Survivor is one of Lesotho's principal independent print media. The Maseru-based weekly has a strong independent profile, keeping a critical view on Basotho authorities and the economy. While Mopheme is mostly read by Lesotho's business community - thus offering unique advertising possibilities - the weekly keeps a clear social profile and defends the man in the street.
The newspaper is owned and run by editor Lawrence Keketso, one of Lesotho's foremost journalists. Mopheme takes responsibility in the difficult task of maintaining press freedom in Lesotho and its team of investigative journalists has plaid a vital role in this aspect.
afrol News since 2000 has formally cooperated with Mopheme, first through the MisaNet news exchange network of independent African media, and since 2005 as a direct cooperation between the two media. Under current conditions, this enables Mopheme to freely reproduce afrol News copy and it enables afrol News to reproduce Mopheme copy. There is an intention of deepening and commercialising this cooperation.
