afrol News partner media: Le Quotidien
Le Quotidien is among Senegal's leading newspapers, and probably the most circulated independent newspaper. Established only in 2003 by Madiambal Diagne, it soon knocked out competition on its straight-forward language and critical reporting, getting Mr Diagne into trouble with annoyed Dakar authorities. Le Quotidien is not afraid of revealing the painful truth, even if it hurts authorities or the opposition.
Based in the Senegalese metropolis Dakar, Le Quotidien and its online version are also among Africa's leading French language media, often referred to by the international press. Given its large circulation - both online and on paper - Le Quotidien is a favoured marketplace and a natural choice for advertisers wanting to reach the West African market.
afrol News first started cooperating loosely with Le Quotidien in 2005, with the launch of its West African network of independent media, and of afrol News' limited French edition (media subscriptions only). During 2006, cooperation deepened as afrol News extended its French language service, which is received by Le Quotidien. Since October 2006, afrol News also publishes and distributes Le Quotidien copy to other partner media and our new West Africa services are based in the Dakar offices of Le Quotidien.
