Darfur e conflito entre Sudão e Chade discutidos em mini-cimeira

afrol News, 8 February - Cinco presidentes africanos estão reunidos em Tripoli, na Líbia, numa mini-cimeira sobre a situação no Darfur e o conflito entre o Sudão e a Chade. O Darfur é palco de um conflito entre as forças governamentais e dois grupos rebeldes e já provocou entre 180 mil e 300 mil mortos e cerca de dois milhões de deslocados.

Segundo as Nações Unidas , o Sudão suspeita os chadianos de apoiar os rebeldes de etnia africana no Darfur ao passo que o Chade acusa as milícias pro-governamentais sudanesas de violações do seu território.

De acordo com um oficial líbio, as autoridades sudanesas e chadianas manifestaram o desejo de chegar a uma solução ao conflito.

O chefe de Estado congolês e presidente em exercício da União Africana (UA), Denis Sassou Nguesso, dirige o encontro que reúne ainda os presidentes sudanês, chadiano, líbio e burkinabé.
